LTR specialises in providing accommodation at the very highest level and we only focus on 5 star luxury properties which are let on an exclusive use basis, come fully staffed and offer the very highest level of comfort and privacy. We are ruthlessly particular about the homes that we recommend and vet them carefully on an annual basis to ensure that standards have been maintained. There are now over 300 hundred exclusive use houses and castles in Scotland alone, all purporting to offer deluxe accommodation but only a handful meet the standards which we expect at LTR. With no grading system currently available in the private house sector, it is even more important than ever that our guests can access our knowledge of them and use our impartial advice so as to be able to separate the wonderful properties from the mediocre.
The luxury accommodation we offer as part of our bespoke vacations varies hugely in size and architectural styles, from small 15th century tower houses to huge Victorian piles, built during the height of the British Empire, when many English aristocrats had enormous homes built to show case their new status and to be close geographically to the mourning Queen Victoria. We can recommend equally impressive Edwardian homes, Gothic palaces, Elizabethan manor houses and many others from the Georgian era, which was an incredibly prolific period for building large country homes particularly in Scotland and Ireland. The houses and castles also vary in size from small 5 bedroom tower houses to 25 bedroom castles and we obviously carefully match each group with the appropriate home. Of course, there are many other factors to consider when choosing your luxury accommodation like interests, activities, geographical distances and the standard of comfort and service on offer.
It is only since the early 1970's when the UK and Ireland started to recover from the ravages of two World Wars that many of these homes started to be restored and indeed a lot have enjoyed an incredible renaissance as a result of all the wealth that has been generated over the last three decades. This has been helped further by many younger owners showing great business acumen and flexibility as to how their homes can be used for a multitude of different ventures and activities. Castle and country house weddings have become a massive industry and this use alone has transformed the fortunes of many of our homes. We focus on the private and corporate rental sector and combine our knowledge of these estates with a complete concierge service, arranging every facet of a 5 star luxury holiday. This exclusive use of our most luxurious homes has done much to restore the fabric of England, Scotland and Ireland's cultural heritage.
