Accommodation
Luxury Hotels
England
England has long boasted an impressive collection of 5 star luxury hotels, from the famous London hotels such as The Dorchester, Savoy group and the smaller boutique hotels like the Pelham and the Milestone to the plethora of country house hotels which are to be found in every county. LTR advises its guests on which of these hotels are currently in fashion, maybe a little past it or are new to the scene and deserve your custom. They do go up and down in quality, change hands and many deteriorate when purchased by larger groups who do not reinvest. So the hotel scene is a bit of a lottery and it's our job to keep up with the latest developments. We only achieve this by regular site visits and maintaining close contact with both the properties themselves and other industry colleagues who provide useful contact.
A recent visit to Raymond Blanc's Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons was a timely reminder that quality can endure as both our room, the dinner and breakfast were all exemplary and this great Oxfordshire hotel has lost none of its star quality. The same can not be said of Cliveden which was disappointing on a recent visit and seemed to have slipped in most key areas. It is easy to be lured in by glamorous websites and the beauty of the actual building but we can often suggest suitable alternatives where we know you will receive the service you expect and deserve. It is the nature of the beast, especially in recessionary times, that standards will vary and we work hard to support the great hotels and to avoid the mediocre. Fortunately throughout England there are some really great hotels, of all shapes and sizes were guests can be sure of a warm welcome, a very comfortable room and a delicious dinner as part of their LTR experience. Our up to the minute knowledge will help you make the right choice and avoid any disappointments.
