Every year LTR organises a number of family gatherings where guests fly in from a number of different locations and congregate at one of our castles. One such family (17 strong) has just departed after a happy week at Birkhill Castle in Fife. Initiated by the family matriarch i.e. granny, and organised by LTR, guests flew into Edinburgh, were met by their coach driver and an LTR Director and then journeyed north to the castle for a week of sightseeing, distillery tours, white water rafting, fishing, golf and exploring!
Every day was filled with activities and a couple of evenings were enlivened by Scottish dancing or a colourful storyteller. However, despite a very busy schedule (and there was quite a lot of nodding off in the back of the bus) there was also plenty of down time for the grandchildren to hang out, play table tennis or billiards, watch a movie and just be together. As granny pointed out on day 1, these trips are all about ‘building memories’ and where better than in your own private castle where you can control the environment and all be together as a family. LTR is seasoned at putting together these memorable family reunions and has been doing so for the past 13 years.
