For 10 days in August, Birkhill Castle threw open its doors to eight seasoned US golfers, who gathered to celebrate the 60th birthday of their host. This was a group of old friends who had played golf together for years and many of whom knew Scotland and its golf courses well.
With an action packed schedule, the flawless organisation ensured that there were no stressful moments and host was able to enjoy the experience as much as his guests. Birkhill is a home of great charm and character where the guests were able to really relax and feel at home. Every day started with a huge Scottish breakfast in the dining room and ended with a few drams in front of the fire in the library, surrounded by thousands of old books and family portraits.
The castle’s secretary said that every time she passed the dining room in the morning, all she could hear was roars of laughter, a common theme amongst happy LTR guests.
