Despite the wettest spring for a century, river banks bursting and mud everywhere, LTR’s guests continued to enjoy themselves throughout the UK. The trick is to dress for the weather and not let a bit of rain dampen your spirits. Easier said than done some days but always possible in a country where the weather changes every few hours and in homes that were built for long winters. We have kept the log fires lit for our US guests and central heating full on but most guests have left feeling relieved that their stay was only partially affected by the great British climate.
On a positive note, the lushness of our landscapes, the greenness of our fields, the variety of our foliage are all greatly aided by huge amounts of rain fall. We hope the next few months will bring more sunshine to increase everyone’s enjoyment of the Olympic Games and to ensure another successful harvest for our farmers. LTR arranges bespoke tours and private house stays throughout the UK and Ireland and our portfolio of houses & castles is the finest on offer.
