Film Locations and Photo Shoots

LTR has helped organize a number of fashion shoots and brochure and magazine sessions and as well as assisting with film locations. Particularly in Scotland where the air is so clear that photographers love to work there and recent clients have included Burberry shot by Mario Testino and starring Stella Tennant at Glen House and for Otto Kern shot by Mats Cordt at Manderston House.

As well as being able to find venues in some of the most stunning and dramatic locations in Scotland and the rest of the UK and Ireland, we are able to assist with many other requests that film location companies and model agenices have.    In the past this has included providing additional children to act as models, arranging for the local hunt to appear at a key moment, various props to be sourced and for local characters to be on hand.

 At the end of shoots, we have arranged musical entertainment and all manner of other acts to amuse the guests. So LTR is very much on hand to help where needed and is experienced at doing so.

Movies shot in grand private houses and castles are often lengthy affairs, with the estate being booked up for some months, furniture and artwork being carefully stored elsewhere and the owners having to relocate for long periods.  All these points require careful planning and the LTR film division has been advising clients for many years on how to best accommodate these issues.  We can also assist with local accommodation, transport companies, good caterers and in many other ways by using our local knowledge and experience.  With large sums of money involved and huge teams of people, a quick solution is often required and we work hard to support any film teams on location at one of our houses and castles.  It comes back to the bespoke service we offer and the concierge attitude we have to all our clients.  We are a small team but we care and we will do whatever is required.

It is also essential to have a legal agreement between the parties as the film crews are notorious for stretching the bounds of what has been agreed and of course there is the potential for damage. We have good workable legal agreements and can recommend specialist lawyers to personalize these documents to suit the circumstances.

Because of our extensive knowledge of the houses and castles and the limited number of estates that we represent, LTR is often called upon to recommend homes and to facilitate the appropriate contract with the owner, who may live overseas and completely trusts our advice on these matters. Film and photo shoots are not regular events at any of our homes and we take great care to ensure that the houses and castles themselves are respected and that the owners have no cause for concern.  This is a delicate area with often extensive equipment being brought into the property and the potential for damage is huge.  However with due care, we have helped to oversee some very successful film and photo shoots and look forward to being of assistance to other media companies.  The houses and castles certainly make a wonderful back drop for all sorts of product launches, period dramas and reality TV shows.  It is a great indication of how important these buildings remain to this day and a testament to the good taste of the people who built them.  We can suggest houses and castles from a range of architectural styles and in all shapes and sizes.
