Golf Tours and Vacations
Golf obviously plays a huge part in the sporting life of Ireland and Scotland and the rest of the UK, which between them, have 27 of the world's top 100 courses and all of which allow public access; unlike the US which has 45 of the world's top 100 courses but all of which are private clubs. The demand to play on our great courses is immense and many are booked from sunrise to late evening all summer long. The golfer is a hardy sportsman and we see guests playing the top courses throughout most of the year. There are many excellent golf tour companies that do a super job of transporting guests, arranging tee times and booking guests into moderately priced hotels. LTR looks after guests who like to do things with a little more panache!
Our typical golfing party arrives into Edinburgh or Dublin, is met by their driver for the week and is transferred to a luxurious private house or castle where a masseur is on hand to iron out the stresses of the journey. Each day an 18 hole championship golf course is lined up at a civilized hour with caddies to carry the clubs and a late lunch booked to discuss the putts missed! This can be followed by either a lazy rest of the day at the house or some sort of activity like a visit to a local distillery but for more ambitious players who like to squeeze in two 18 hole courses each day, we use helicopters to transport guests between courses for the ultimate golf experience. This is the LTR service which our top golfers enjoy. Evening entertainment can be arranged but generally after all that fresh air, guests are delighted to retire early.
