The Royal Crescent is THE place to stay in Bath and for good reason. The hotel occupies the two central buildings in the stunningly beautiful Royal Crescent, both of which are Grade 1 listed and were built by the celebrated John Wood the Younger. The hotel itself is incredibly elegant and has 45 bedrooms, a lovely spa and beautiful gardens. From here you are perfectly positioned to explore the city and the Crescent sits up high giving you wonderful views in bedrooms that offer a very high level of comfort. Behind the Crescent is the garden which leads to what would have been the coach houses but which are now further bedrooms, suites, the spa and the Dower House Restaurant.
Focusing on the natural elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water, the Bath House embraces both ancient and modern day spa culture, with an extensive range of both traditional and progressive holistic therapies. You can also enjoy the relaxation pool, cool and tepid plunge baths, sauna and steam Karahafus, fully equipped gymnasium, plus treatments ranging from soothing massages to full aromatherapy facials, fruit enzyme wraps and holistic foot & nail treatments. The spa overlooks the gardens and has a wonderfully tranquil feel for our guests who need to unwind a little after a long flight or work off the excesses of too many delicious dinners. Everything is beautifully maintained and the hotel has extremely friendly staff.
The Dower House which also overlooks the gardens is one of Bath's best kept secrets. In the summer months, the sunny terrace is perfect for al fresco dining and in the main building, a number of individually designed rooms, such as the library and the Pavilion Conservatory are available for private dining and special occasions. Step out of the hotel and you are in the heart of the city, which is really fun to explore either on foot or by chauffeur driven car. The parking in Bath is very limited, so we recommend these methods or if you would prefer something really stylish, take a cruise along the historic Kennet and Avon waterway in the hotel's 1923 Thames river launch, the Lady Sophina. For guests with a head for heights, you can also go in a hot air balloon, in which you will experience breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding countryside.
