Cringletie House is situated on the edge of the historic market town of Peebles, flanked by the Meldon hills, the Tweed and Glentress Forest. The house offers genteel elegance in an environment steeped in peacefulness. This is a fine Baronial mansion offering delicious food, beautifully decorated bedrooms and modern bathrooms. The house is stylish but cosy and very welcoming. Modern art work is combined with old world charm.
Cringletie House sits on a modest hill amidst 28 acres of gardens and woodlands, with a paddock of native cattle. Inviting pathways take wanderers through the grounds along the burn with a view of waterfall. A slightly gentler walk leads to the 400 year old walled garden with the Victorian greenhouse. Part of this garden supplies the chefs with the most wonderful vegetables and garnishes. Another part is used to grow soft fruits to produce jams in a variety of flavours. Yet another area is set out for gentler games like petanque, draughts and chess.
Quite exceptional for a small country house hotel, Cringletie House has extensive facilities for the disabled.
