Gordon Castle, Morayshire, Scotland, UK

Gordon Castle, at Fochabers on the Lower River Spey, was historically the principal seat of the Dukes of Gordon and was one of the largest houses ever built in highland Scotland.

Most of the castle was demolished in the 1950s and the remaining one wing has been converted into a comfortable house in its own right.

The castle has recently benefited from significant renovation and stunning redecoration and today provides exceptionally comfortable accommodation and is now available for exclusive use hire.

Gordon Castle has eight beautiful luxury double and twin bedrooms, together with two further single bedrooms. Each has its own well appointed bathroom finished to the highest standard. All the bedrooms have been individually decorated. The beds are huge, the linen crisp and the towels large white and fluffy!

The Castle has numerous living rooms on both floors for guests to spread out, including a drawing room, study, billiard room and two large entertaining rooms. Satellite television is available in three of the main sitting rooms and wifi broadband is available.

There is a lift for those unable to use the stairs. The gardens are large and private and include a tennis court.

Guests are looked after by a wonderful team of experienced chefs and household staff. Much of what the chefs cook comes from the estate.

A full Scottish breakfast and three or four course dinner is served in the Castle, with a gourmet picnic lunch and tea provided each day as required.

The Castle and the immediate area around the Castle is for the exclusive use of guests. The huge gardens provide a tranquil and picturesque area for those who do not wish to venture further afield.

A tennis court, bicycles and numerous walks are all available for those who are feeling a bit more energetic while there is masses to do and see in the local vicinity.
