Hoscote House is set in a 450 acre estate in the heart of the Scottish Borders, boasting magnificent views over the open countryside.
Built in 1858, Hoscote House can comfortably sleep up to 20 guests, and there are three further cottages and an apartment on the estate offering high quality luxury self catering accommodation for an additional 20 guests.
The house has recently been refurbished to an exceptionally high standard with a large bright drawing room, study, conservatory, games room and good sized dining room. There is also a very well equipped kitchen and breakfast room - this is a house that is comfortable with large groups.
Covering about eighteen hundred square miles, the Scottish Borders stretches from the rolling hills and moorland in the west, through gentler valleys to the rich agricultural plains of the east, and on to the rocky Berwickshire coastline with its secluded coves and picturesque fishing villages.
Activity weekends at Hoscote House include mountain biking on the estate trails or in Craik Forest just two miles away, various marked walks through the estate and fishing in the stocked trout pond as well as the nearby rivers of the Teviot and Tweed. There is a gym, sauna and fitness complex located in the Dairy.
There's also an outdoor hot tub and aromatherapists, beauticians and hairdressers can be brought in to pamper the guests. The Scottish Borders is the main gateway to Scotland from the south and has much to offer.Guests will discover friendly towns and picturesque villages, as well as the castles, abbeys, stately homes and museums that illustrate the exciting and often bloody history of the area.
The area is a paradise for hill walkers and cyclists of all capabilities, while in the River Tweed and its many tributaries, there is some of the best fishing in Scotland.
As the Borders is a region famed for its textiles, many guests like to browse and buy beautiful tweeds, cashmere, tartans and knitwear direct from the local mills and shops of Hawick. This is a great area for small local golf courses, with almost a different golf course in every town.
