Pitcastle Estate in Perthshire, covers 1,500 acres of spectacular Scottish landscape made up of river frontage, deer park, forests, heather moorland and mountain country.

The estate extends from the River Tay at the bottom up to its highest peak at over 3,000ft at the top.

There are eight lochs, stocked annually with rainbow and brown trout.  There is a charming fishing hut on the banks of the River Tay, a comfortable shooting bothy in the middle of the estate, and a remote fishing hut at the two highest hill lochs.

Pitcastle House itself, nestled at the bottom of the estate and above the river, is a substantial Victorian mansion house, the turrets and crow steps typical of Scottish Baronial style. Inside, the house has an entrance hall, three reception rooms, dining room and nine comfortable bedrooms - all with en-suite bathrooms.

Each room has a spectacular view across the glen and the house is decorated to a very high standard. Pitcastle is a magical house to hire for exclusive use, challenging the sportsman and charming the romantic, as well as offering peace and tranquility in a spectacular part of Perthshire.

Pitcastle Estate in Perthshire has a long and fascinating history.  There was a house of some sort at Pitcastle in the early 1700's that belonged to the Campbells of Glenlyon (a predecessor being Captain Robert Campbell of the Glencoe Massacre).  This Scottish estate has had a few owners and enjoyed various stages of modernisation and development before being bought by the present owners in 2006.

There is a whole host of attractions and activities for our visitors to indulge in.  Stalking and shooting; salmon fishing on the world famous salmon river, the River Tay; trout fishing on the stocked estate lochs and golf on one of Perthshire's 39 golf courses (one in the village!) are some of the sporting activities available.  If you are a history lover you can visit Killiecrankie, the battle site of 1689 during the first Jacobite uprising or Blair Castle, one of Scotland's major stately homes.  There is fabulous shopping at the nearby House of Bruar and of course Edinburgh.

Glenlochy, their sister estate close by, is an area of outstanding natural beauty situated in one of Scotland's most beautiful and ancient glens.

Running from Glenlyon to Loch Tay and down to the village of Killin in Perthshire, this 14,000 acre estate remains totally unspoilt, and, forming the upper half of the glen, has complete privacy and seclusion.

With the changing landscape from the lower to higher slopes providing varied and exciting stalking opportunities, this is land where the stag truly is the Monarch of the Glen! Pitcastle is an exclusive use estate in one of the prettiest areas of Perthshire.
