Mitzela is made up of an Upper and Lower House built in the style of the local churches. Both Houses have breathtaking views over the Aegean and up to Mount Osa and together camn sleep up to 14 guests in fantastic comfort and style.
Mitzela comes fully equipped, there is a full complement of staff, including manager, cook, maid and laundry service. All food is either home grown in the gardens or sourced from the local markets in Zagora. There is plenty to occupy guests, the causeway beach is 10 minutes away on the road to Pouri, the sea is an 8 minute walk down through the forest, where swimming and snorkelling can be enjoyed. The surrounding deciduous forest is a haven for all sorts of flora, fauna and wild animals, incluidng boar, owls and badgers.
Some 300 years ago Mitzela was a thriving village, until it was sacked by the Ottoman Empire. Traces of the village can still be seen under the forest that engulfed it when it was abandoned.
Due to the isolation and remoteness of Mitzela, guests would be escorted to the property. MItzela is situated about 20km north of Zagora on the Pelion peninsula. The closest village is Pouri approx 15km along a forest road to the south (45 minutes)
The closest airport is Volos, 2 hours away. This is served only by charter flights. Athens airport is about 5 hours away and Thessalonica is some 4 hours away.
