The Ultimate golf week with a little culture thrown in!

Breakfast time arrival into Edinburgh, where our tired guests from Washington DC were met by Little’s chauffeur drive and whisked off to the Howard Hotel in Edinburgh’s New Town. After settling in, a  nap and some lunch, the afternoon is spent strolling around Edinburgh. Light dinner in the hotel and early to bed.

Day two is spent further exploring this historic city and absorbing some of it’s culture. Starting at the Castle, our guests then wander down the Royal Mile, taking in the New Parliament building and ending up at the Palace of Holyrood (HM the Queen’s Edinburgh residence) for a guided tour of the Queen’s gallery. After much walking, our guests dine out at Oloroso, the city’s hip new restaurant and from their table they can admire the floodlit Castle.

On day three, our guests head north to Perthshire and Kinloch House hotel, where they check in and whilst one heads for the spa centre, the other drives a short distance further to meet Johnny Stewart, LTR’s golfing consultant for lunch at the Dormy House clubhouse. This is followed by 18 holes at the Gleneagles Kings Course, with Johnny helping our guest navigate this famous inland course. Having allowed time to practice on the range, our guest was pleasantly surprised to come in a few under par.

Encouraged by a strong start, the next four days see our guests lay siege to some of Scotland’s finest courses, including Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, Rosemount and the Old Course. Each day a morning tee off is arranged, allowing for a late lunch and some afternoon sightseeing. St Andrews itself is a delightful mix of ancient university, ruined Castle, bustling streets and some excellent cashmere outlets. Within easy reach are other coastal towns, castles, gardens and many scenic walks.

Our guests return home a little humbled by the links courses of the Kingdom of Fife but more in love than ever with the game of golf, culturally enriched and surprisingly tanned.
