There are only six golf courses in England that have hosted The Open Championship. These courses are Royal St George's (Sandwich), Royal Liverpool (Hoylake), Royal Cinque Ports (Deal), Prince's, Royal Lytham and St Annes and Royal Birkdale.
England has hosted The Open a total of forty six times with the most recent Open Championship having been staged at Royal St George's, in 2011. Royal St George's was the first course to host The Open outside Scotland in 1894 since then it has hosted The Championship 14 times.
Prince's Golf Club is situated in Sandwich with Royal St George's Golf Club next door. Having staged The Open in 1932, Prince's is still used for Open Qualifying when The Open is at Royal St George's. LTR arranges bespoke golf tours in England arranging access to these and other wonderful courses for our guests, with holiday accommodation in lovely local houses and castles complete with transport laid on at all times.
A separate golf club vehicle is arranged, so that your clubs are ready at the start of each round at the first tee and then cleaned at the end of the visit. For non golfers we can arrange a full schedule of sightseeing, sporting activities and shopping in the area. Helicopters are also available for guests who wish to play two 18 hole courses a day and need a quick transfer between courses. Whatever is required, LTR will make it happen.
We have organised for our guests to play with some of the country's top professionals and our bespoke golf tours are traditionally for parties of 4 or 8 players with or without non - playing partners.
Comprehensive programmes are built around course selections and put together, and using our knowledge of the smaller, more private, quirky and picturesque courses as well as the better known and more famous courses, which helps to enhance the experience.
LTR uses both luxury hotels as well as private houses and castles from which to base these golf tours and allows us to arrange non-golfing programmes for those who would prefer to do something other than golf.
