France is the most visited country in the world.
It has everything that anyone could ever want to see on their holidays. A iconic city like Paris, fabulous beaches, more monuments than any other country, a rich and diverse wildlife, incredible mountain scenery are all to be found in France. With gastronomy at it heart, superb wines and so much culture, LTR has been organising bespoke luxury vacations and tours to France for well over a decade and our excellent ‘team’ on the ground helps make a trip to France a very memorable experience.
Private villas and chateaus are dotted around the country and there is always exactly the right place for every group of friends or family party. It just needs the local knowledge to choose the right place.
The North of France consists of the flatlands and this area will remind visitors in many ways of Belgium and the Netherlands. Paris, the city of light is without a doubt one of the most beautiful cities in the world. In the north, Normandy & Brittany have rolling hills, sandy beaches and quiet little harbour towns. The eastern part of France consists of the Alsace, Lorraine, Franche Comté and Burgundy regions.
The centre of France is in many ways the quietest part of the country, but the great treasure of this region is the Loire valley, with many great castles and beautiful towns.
Chartres with its famous cathedral and Tours rates amongst the most beautiful in France. LTR organises luxury tours and vacations to all these regions and has laid on some very specialist wine tasting visits, where guests take over a top chateau in Bordeaux or Burgundy and are treated to very personal wine tastings at some of the most famous vineyards.
Provence is dotted with pleasant small villages and in the south west of France the Dordogne is one of the most quintessential French regions. The valleys are pretty, the towns attractive and the food so good, that you never want to leave. In the south of Languedoc are the Pyrenees, the great mountain range separating France from Spain, a paradise for those who want to hike and ski. The cities of Toulouse and Montpellier are magical and Carcassone is a wonderful medieval, walled city well worth including on a bespoke tour of France.
