Garden & Cultural Tours
For the last 10 years LTR has run a series of bespoke Garden and Cultural Tours in Ireland for small groups who share the same passion for gardens, history and gorgeous buildings in the midst of some of the most stunning scenery.
These groups are usually restricted to about 16-24 people so that everybody can be accommodated in one of LTRs houses or castles, which are themselves culturally so rich and make a perfect base from which to explore other homes and gardens in the surrounding area.
The owners also greatly enhance the experience by sharing stories and their experience of actually what it is like living in a historic building.
In 2011 LTR took a senior Botanical Gardens Club from the United States on a specifically tailored tour of Ireland stretching the length and breadth of the country - from the Giants Causeway to the Ring of Kerry.
Taking in private gardens that are not open to the public and allowing them to enjoy fine dining in houses and castles that are very much private homes - this is the essence behind LTR's Garden and Cultural Tours - it is to open doors that other operators might not be able to and to allow our clients to get behind the scenes and, in the case of gardens, to dig deep into the soil of the soul of Ireland.
LTR has some leading garden experts on hand to conduct our tours and to share their extensive knowledge of Ireland's famous gardens.
We have owners who can talk with equal knowledge about their homes and other local experts can be brought in to fill in the gaps. We also draw support from various academic bodies and cultural forces like the Georgian society who are generous with their time and expertise.
There is so much to absorb when exploring Ireland, it is no wonder guests return so often.
