New Zealand: Stunning Holiday Destination

New Zealand is fast becoming an important holiday destination for Europe's most demanding travellers. With the continual improvements in air travel, the 12,000 miles from London is now more an adventure and less an ordeal. And when you consider what awaits you at the end of your voyage, you will want to seriously consider making enquiries. So why not start here, with some general information and some of New Zealand's finest destinations?

Language: English and Maori are the two official languages. English is spoken everywhere.

Time: New Zealand is 12 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

Currency: The New Zealand Dollar (with 100 cents).

Climate: The North Island is about 5 degrees Centigrade warmer than the South Island. The warmest months are Decemer to March (summer) where temperatures can reach 30 degrees, while in winter it is 10 in the south, and 15 in the North.

Visas: British, American and Canadian Passport holders can enter the country and stay 3 months without a visa. Other nationals should make enquiries.

Health: New Zealand operates a first class health service. Travel insurance is recommended.

Dress Code: In keeping with New Zealand's relaxed lifestyle, dress is informal on most occasions.

Electricity: 230 volt, 50 hertz. Adaptors are required from both Europe and the Americas.

Roads: You drive on the left, as in Britain. The National Speed Limit is 50kph in cities, 100kph on highways.

LTR has already made several trips to 'the land of the long white cloud', and we have made great allies in the NZ travel trade. We are now in a position to advise you on how to organize a visit to this warm and friendly country that has so much to offer.
